It was probably in 1998 that I was given the opportunity to work with a Tomtec device for quantitative three-dimensional imaging. This is the cube-shaped device on the first page of my presentation, right next to the ultrasonic transducers on our then state-of-the-art Acuson ultrasound scanner – the Sequoia 512 – in combination with the PC on the far left in the picture.
